Cascade Attachment - Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They began as a small machine shop initially hiring 4 people. Product sales for their first year of operation totaled sixty thousand dollars. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless steel pipe fittings, valves and various components. During five years of operation, the company had stretched to forty staff and their yearly sales volume had risen to 330 thousand dollars. These days, Cascade is one of the leading global makers in the material handling business.
Design and manufacturing of the company's first hydraulic cylinder allowed this young company to aggressively engage in better business opportunities. All through the final 60 years, the trade of material handling has developed into a very complex field with Cascade proudly playing a part in its growth. Cascade at present continues to grow as the leader supplier of lift truck accessories and various related items. The company feels certain in their potential so as to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding client's needs in the future and remaining competitive within the global market.
In the nineteen fifties, Cascade started designing, manufacturing and promoting hydraulic accessories. Construction was done in 1956 on a new office in order to house all of the office and plant operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's present headquarters. Following 15 years of business, total employees reached one hundred eighty staff and sales had reached practically 2.3 million dollars.
A second manufacturing plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's preliminary move into the global world of the material handling industry as the business recognized interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
The company altered its name to Cascade Corporation in the year 1964. In 1965, Cascade went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. The business has expanded its manufacturing facilities within the United States with places in Warner Robins, Georgia, Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade products are made internationally thanks to a lot of subsidiary operations. In 1994, a brand new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This facility is made to be the essential customer service centre.
Cascade further expanded their product base in 1996 and the year 1997 subsequent to acquiring 5 corporations, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the worldwide leader in blades.
